Matsu is a special project that pays tribute to the three generations of wine growers who devoted their lives to the vineyards.

The wines curated are unique and of exceptional quality from the Toro region in Spain. It celebrates and shows respect to their work and sacrifices. Each wine produced under this project has a photo label of a real-life wine grower. The team, spearheaded by the one and only Raúl Acha, follows the traditional way of winemaking – minimal intervention with organic and biodynamic processes.

The essence of this project is symbolized in their name, Matsu – meaning ‘wait’ and respect for nature in Japanese.

Picture a young man with a strong and gallant personality, the El Picaro pays homage to the young generation of grape growers in Spain. Fruity and intense with blackberry, blueberry aromas and a dose of licorice and leafy notes, this wine is young, fresh and bold. A perfect start to an evening or pop the cork for a veal or venison dish.

👉Matsu El Recio 2020

Celebrating the skills and dedication of the current generation of wine producers, El Recio is a fleshy red wine that has elegance and flair. Made with 100% Tempranillo, the wine offers concentrated aromas of dark fruit, chocolate and spice with a deliciously silky and round mouth-feel. Lingering fruit after every sip! Its bold yet easy-to-drink. A brilliant addition to a boys' night out - preferably with a big slab of steak.

👉Matsu El Viejo 2020

Made only during the most exceptional years from centenarian vines, the El Viejo celebrates the maturity and wisdom from the older generation of wine producers. Spicy, smoky with intense aromas of dark fruit especially cherry, this is a wine worth savoring on its own. Silkily smooth and absolutely satisfying with a long lingering flavors of ripe fruit and burnt wood. Definitely a bottle reserved for the end of the evening, a night-cap with a cigar!
